Samsung Expands One UI 8 Rollout for Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE & Flip 6

Shortly after pushing the stable version to beta users, Samsung has started a wider rollout of One UI 8 for its 2024 foldables. The big Android 16-based update is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE, and Flip 6 across South Korea. It should soon hit other markets.

Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold SE get One UI 8 in Korea

Earlier today, Samsung released the stable One UI 8 update for Korean Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 users enrolled in the beta program. It has now expanded the rollout to cover non-beta units. This expansion also brings One UI 8 to the limited edition Fold SE, which didn’t get beta releases. The new firmware build versions for the two Fold models are CYI7, while it is CYI6 for the Flip 6.

With the Korean release now over, Samsung should soon bring One UI 8 to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold SE, and Flip 6 in the rest of the world (Fold SE was only launched in Korea and China). Beta users may get a priority in India, the UK, and the US, but it shouldn’t be long before the update goes global. Users can always check for new updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Based on Android 16, One UI 8 brings a cleaner design language with smoother transitions and refined system animations, making everyday navigation feel more intuitive. With streamlined menus, tighter integration of Galaxy ecosystem apps, enhanced AI features, and better efficiency under the hood, this update makes the overall Galaxy experience faster, smarter, and more user-friendly.

Samsung should soon start pushing One UI 8 to other eligible Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S24 series should be the next in the pipeline, followed by the Galaxy S23, Fold 5, and Flip 5. The company expects to complete the rollout before the end of the year, though some entry-level models may not receive the update until sometime in December.
