Samsung’s January 2026 security update is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in more markets. After an initial release in South Korea a few days ago, the company has started rolling out the new security patch for its 2025 foldable duo in Europe, India, and a few other regions. Users in the US can expect to receive the update in the coming days.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 grab the January 2026 update in more markets

First reported by tipster Tarun Vats, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are picking up Samsung’s latest security patch in Europe and India with the firmware build version AZA1. The OTA package weighs 548MB for the Fold and 426MB for the Flip. Both models are getting nothing more than this month’s security fixes, which was the case with the initial rollout as well.

Samsung has already confirmed that the January 2026 update addresses 55 security fixes across the Galaxy family. These include Android OS patches from Google and its partners, as well as One UI fixes from Samsung. Of course, not every patch applies uniformly across devices. For example, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 receives Exynos-specific security fixes that do not apply to the Fold 7, which is powered by a Snapdragon processor.

If you own either of these phones, you can check for updates from the Settings app. Open the app on your Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Flip 7, go to the Software update menu, and tap Download and install. If an update shows up, tap Update to proceed.

Both of these foldable devices support Seamless Updates, so installation happens quietly in the background. You just need to restart your phone to complete the process. If the update isn’t visible yet, it should appear automatically in the coming days as the rollout continues.
