Samsung Expands Google Cast Support to Older TVs

Samsung is making its smart TVs more useful with a new software update. The company has brought support for Google Cast to some older TV models. This gives users a new way to stream content from their phones and tablets directly to the big screen.
Older Samsung TVs are picking up Google Cast support in the new update
Samsung previously limited Google Cast support to its hotel TV lineup. Thankfully, the company shipped the feature with the newly released 2026 consumer TV models. This support is now reaching older TV models through a software update. This is a welcome upgrade for many users who have been waiting for better casting options on Samsung TVs.
According to a Reddit user, Samsung recently pushed a One UI Tizen update for its 2024 S90D OLED TV model. Alongside other new features, the update packs Google Cast support. It is unclear at the moment whether other older models will also receive the feature, but it should arrive in select OLED and high-end TVs.

As usual, the update appears to be rolling out in phases, meaning only some users are picking it first. As the rollout expands in the coming weeks, more older devices should come to light that support Google Cast. Until now, Samsung TV users have mostly depended on Smart View. This in-house feature also lets users wirelessly mirror their Android phone screen to a TV.
Speaking of the 2026 TV lineup, Samsung has improved both hardware and software experiences across its new models. The latest range includes updated Neo QLED and a brand-new Mini LED series. They aim to offer better brightness, improved contrast, and accurate color performance. With the Neo QLED lineup, we get models like the QN80H and QN70H. Meanwhile, the new Mini LED includes M70H and M80H models. If you want to check out more details and buy links for the new TVs, visit here.
