Samsung Enhances Bespoke AI Refrigerators with Voice ID and More

It looks like Samsung has now become more serious after receiving solid responses from buyers for its AI-powered home appliances. The company recently rolled out a software update to its Bespoke AI refrigerators (those with screens). The update aims to deliver seamless user experiences and personalized settings through the Voice ID feature.
Samsung rolls out major update for Bespoke AI refrigerators
Samsung’s Bespoke AI refrigerators offer cutting-edge AI features for food management, energy efficiency, and more. With the latest update, the Korean firm aims to further improve user convenience. The update is currently rolling out to the 2025 Bespoke AI refrigerators (AI Family Hub), with plans to expand to AI Home screen models in the coming months.
“Our primary goal for this year is to realize an AI Home that adapts intuitively to the user,” said Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “We aim to enhance the user experience through continuous software upgrades for existing products, taking us one step closer to a true AI Home experience.”
One of the notable additions is the Voice ID feature. It’s a new multi-voice recognition function from Bixby that recognizes different users’ voices. Users have to register their voice on the refrigerator or a Galaxy device. This is pretty useful as the system enables personalized features based on the recognized user. For example, after recognizing your voice, the refrigerator will automatically switch to your Samsung account, allowing you to view your calendar or photos.
On top of that, Voice ID enables seamless interaction for people who use vision assistance features on their phones, such as grayscale or color inversion. The refrigerator will automatically adjust its screen according to users’ settings, making interaction easier and more accessible.
The latest update also introduced a new way to activate Bixby on the screen. You can now turn on Bixby even if the screen is off — just double-tap on the screen to launch Bixby. Previously, you had to click the Bixby icon on the screen to turn it on. You can also select your preferred method in the settings.
With this update, Samsung is also expanding its Samsung TV Plus service to more countries. Now, users in Canada, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, and India will be able to enjoy the streaming platform on the Bespoke AI refrigerator. Until now, this service has been available in South Korea and the United States.
