Samsung Could Make Galaxy AI Free Forever, Leak Suggests

Samsung has long suggested that certain Galaxy AI features could become paywalled starting in 2026. However, a new leak indicates that the whole Galaxy AI suite may remain permanently free. While the leak specifically refers to Samsung’s upcoming foldables, it’s unlikely the company would adopt a different policy for other Galaxy devices.

Leak suggests no more paywall for Galaxy AI

Ever since Galaxy AI debuted with the Galaxy S24 series, a standard disclaimer has accompanied the feature: Galaxy AI features are free until the end of 2025. Unsurprisingly, this raised concerns that Samsung might put its AI suite behind a paywall next year. However, leaker PandaFlashPro suggests that’s no longer the plan.

According to the source, Samsung will make “all” Galaxy AI features permanently free starting with the new foldables launching in July. They mentioned tools like Generative Edit, Live Translate, and Writing Assist, which are among the most popular Galaxy AI features. If true, these tools should remain free on all Galaxy devices, not just the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE coming next month.

Samsung has yet to officially comment on this possible change in direction, though. Maybe the company will announce it at the upcoming Unpacked event, positioning Galaxy AI as a lifetime free service for its users. However, until there’s confirmation, it’s best to treat this information with caution.

Meanwhile, the same source confirms that buyers of the upcoming foldables will get a six-month free subscription to Gemini Advanced. This offer would include 2TB of Google One cloud storage. The “affordable” Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE would also be eligible for these perks. Alongside the new foldables, Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 8 series at Unpacked next month. The event is reportedly set for July 9, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET in New York City.
