Samsung Confirms One UI 8.5 Rollout Timeline: Galaxy S26 First, Others Later

Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series will ship with One UI 8.5 out of the box. The company also announced that existing devices will receive the update after the S26 launch “in the first half of 2026.” Based on recent leaks, the rollout may not begin until late March next year.
One UI 8.5 arrives first on the Galaxy S26 lineup
A few days ago, Samsung rolled out its first One UI 8.5 Beta update for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in select markets. It is expected to release more beta builds in the coming weeks, potentially expanding the program to a few more devices. However, the stable version won’t arrive anytime soon.
According to Samsung, One UI 8.5 will make its official debut with the Galaxy S26 series. Rumors suggest the new flagships will launch in late February next year, with a market release expected in March. The company will then “sequentially” push the update to existing devices. Even the Galaxy S25 trio won’t receive the stable version until the S26 launch.
Samsung’s confirmation provides much-needed clarity as the company gears up for another major One UI release. Built on Android 16, One UI 8.5 marks a substantial upgrade across visuals, performance, and intelligent features. Samsung is focusing heavily on refinement and next-generation Galaxy AI experiences. Some of the highlights include smoother Galaxy AI image generation and editing tools, deeper Samsung Health insights and activity tracking, and stronger privacy controls and security protections.
Samsung has also focused on UI enhancements aimed at delivering a more fluid user experience. One UI 8.5 is shaping up to be Samsung’s most comprehensive mid-cycle release yet, building on the design language introduced with One UI 7 and improved with One UI 8, while adding meaningful functionality across the board. Stick around for more.
