Samsung Confirms Galaxy Watch Do Not Disturb Issue, Offers Workarounds

Are you unable to keep Do Not Disturb turned ON on your Galaxy Watch? If so, you’re not alone. Several users have recently complained that Do Not Disturb keeps turning off after updating their phones to One UI 8. The good news is that Samsung is aware of the issue and is already working on a fix. Meanwhile, the company has shared quick workarounds so the bug does not affect users’ experience.
Do this if your Galaxy Watch’s Do Not Disturb won’t stay on
The issue likely appears shortly after users install One UI 8 on their Galaxy phones. Several Galaxy Watch (connected to One UI 8 device) users recently noticed that when they turn on Do Not Disturb directly from the watch, the feature only remains active for a few seconds before turning off on its own. However, when they enable DND from the phone, it works normally and stays on.
Samsung confirmed that the issue affects a bunch of Galaxy Watch models, including the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, Watch 6, Watch 7, and Watch 8. In a community post, a moderator said that the issue occurs when you pair the Galaxy Watch to a phone running One UI 8 and set the Do Not Disturb duration to “Until I turn it off” in the watch’s quick settings panel. In this case, Do Not Disturb settings do not work properly on the watch. Thankfully, you can fix the issue “by activating (turning on) Do Not Disturb mode in the watch’s settings or activating (turning on) Do Not Disturb mode on the phone you are using”.
To turn on Do Not Disturb in the watch settings, you need to first swipe down from the top of the watch screen. Now open Settings, select Notifications, and then turn on Do Not Disturb. Alternatively, you can activate DND in the quick settings panel on the connected Galaxy phone, as the feature syncs between a Galaxy phone and a Galaxy Watch.
Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up to push a fix through a software update for the Galaxy Watch. So, make sure to update your watch to the latest version (when available) using the Galaxy Wearable app.
