Samsung has officially confirmed the upcoming release of the Galaxy S25 Edge, expanded foldable lineup, and a range of next-generation ecosystem products with AI integration. Galaxy S25 Edge to join the flagship lineup in Q2 2025

Following the strong performance of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has revealed plans to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in the second quarter of 2025. While it didn’t reveal a launch date for obvious reasons — the phone is expected to go official on May 13 — the company confirmed it will be a premium offering. The firm expects the S25 Edge “slim flagship” to build on the success of the core S25 lineup.

Samsung says the device should help it sustain flagship momentum during a typically slow sales season. Starting in 2024, Galaxy AI features have become a central part of Samsung’s mobile strategy, and it continues to double down on that. The Galaxy S25 Edge should feature the same high-performance chipset as the S25 Ultra, ensuring smooth AI processing.

Moreover, Samsung plans to bring AI experiences to affordable phones, including multiple Galaxy A models. It is preparing an update to roll out new AI features and Gemini integration to multiple midrange and budget models next month. Samsung will also strengthen its foldable lineup, promising a “differentiated AI user experience”. It looks like the firm plans deeper integration of Galaxy AI features across its Fold and Flip devices.

Broader AI integration across devices and ecosystem

Beyond smartphones, Samsung plans to roll out AI-powered ecosystem products, including devices with advanced health capabilities and potential entries into new categories such as extended reality (XR). The company teased these expansions as part of a larger effort to differentiate itself through on-device intelligence. Its first XR headset should debut later this year.

In tandem with record-high R&D spending, Samsung’s mobile division is clearly preparing for a transformational second half of 2025, fueled by a wave of new product launches. With the Galaxy S25 Edge on deck, major foldable upgrades in the pipeline, and intelligent ecosystem products in development, the company is betting heavily on AI and innovation to retain its leadership in the global smartphone market.
