Samsung has officially confirmed the Exynos 2600, its upcoming 2nm processor. While we don’t yet have the full specs, the company posted a short teaser on YouTube, suggesting that the chip will power the Galaxy S26 series, at least some models in select markets. The new flagships arrive in January or February next year.

Samsung’s Exynos 2600 teaser hints at big upgrades ahead of Galaxy S26 launch

This 30-second teaser delivers four key messages from Samsung. It opens with the line, “In silence, we listened,” a clear nod to years of criticism over Exynos chips struggling to keep up with competitors. With the Exynos 2500 showing signs of recovery this year, Samsung is positioning the next-generation model as a continuation of that momentum.

The company adds that the Exynos 2600 is “refined at the core,” hinting at major architectural and performance upgrades. It should finally match or surpass the performance of competing chips from Qualcomm and Apple. This signals deeper work at the CPU, GPU, and microarchitecture level.

Samsung also claims to have “optimized” the chip “at every level.” Specifically designed for the Galaxy S26 series, the Exynos 2600 should benefit from deeper hardware-software optimizations. The ultimate goal is “to express the exceptional,” positioning the chip as a comeback story designed to impress users who may have lost confidence in Exynos-powered Galaxy devices.

A 2nm GAA chip that marks a technological leap

While Samsung hasn’t revealed the specs yet, the Exynos 2600 is expected to be built on Samsung Foundry’s 2nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) process, one of the most advanced semiconductor technologies in the world. The Exynos 2600 also features the GAA architecture, but it is a 3nm processor. The upcoming model should bring improved energy efficiency and performance.

If executed well, the 2nm GAA process could dramatically improve thermal efficiency, battery longevity, and sustained performance, directly addressing the overheating and throttling issues that plagued some earlier Exynos generations. Samsung should ship the Galaxy S26 and S26+ with the Exynos 2600 in some markets, if not globally. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 worldwide.
