Samsung Begins One UI 8 Rollout for Galaxy M56

Samsung Galaxy M56 users have reason to celebrate. The company has officially started rolling out the One UI 8 update for the device, beginning with users in India. The update is expected to reach other markets where the mid-range smartphone is sold in the coming days.

Galaxy M56 is the latest to join Samsung’s One UI 8 party

The big Android 16 update for this phone comes with firmware version M566BXXU3BYI6 and weighs just under 2GB. It carries the September 2025 security patch, though the update is primarily about the tons of features and enhancements in One UI 8. The Galaxy M56 is getting a refreshed user interface along with camera upgrades and other functional improvements.

Samsung has already updated dozens of other Galaxy smartphones and tablets to One UI 8. Flagship models also picked up new AI tools for enhanced productivity. While mid-range devices miss out on advanced AI functions, users still have plenty to be excited about. One UI 8 builds on the massive UI overhaul Samsung introduced with One UI 7 earlier this year.

With this rollout, Samsung continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering the latest software enhancements and security updates to mid-range devices, ensuring users enjoy both improved functionality and peace of mind. One UI 8 should soon reach the other remaining Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung is also preparing the One UI 8.5 update, which promises subtle but impactful improvements, including new Galaxy AI features, UI refinements, and a redesigned app drawer with an enhanced search bar. The Galaxy M56 is eligible for this update. However, it may not arrive until the second quarter of 2026.

One UI 8.5 will debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year before expanding to other models. Samsung may launch beta programs for select flagship models to test key changes later this year. Stay tuned for more.
