Samsung Begins One UI 8.5 Testing For the Galaxy A56

Samsung has started testing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A56. The first One UI 8.5 build for this year’s top A series phone has appeared on Samsung’s test servers in a few regions. This, if anything, confirms that Samsung is already working on the upcoming update.
First One UI 8.5 build for a Galaxy A series device appears on test servers
The Galaxy A56 is the first A series phone to be spotted with a One UI 8.5 test build. One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 QPR2. The test firmware for the Galaxy A56 has shown up in regions such as Europe and Turkey. As reported by tipster Alfatürk, it carries the build number A566BXXU7CYL8. The new build appeared for the “B” model of the A56. Other variants of the A56 should also show up soon, with a One UI 8.5 build.

With this, the Galaxy A56 joins the list of devices for which One UI 8.5 builds have been spotted. These devices include Samsung’s flagships and foldables such as the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. Additionally, the list includes the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE. The upcoming Galaxy S26 series is also part of the mix. Meanwhile, the upcoming Galaxy A57, the successor to the A56, is expected to launch with One UI 8.5 out of the box.
For those wondering, the Galaxy A56 is still unlikely to join the public beta program. The reason is simple: The Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch early next year. Samsung may not want to expand the beta program any further as it could delay the schedule. Yesterday, Samsung released One UI 8.5 Beta 1 for the Galaxy S25 series in regions such as Korea, Germany, the UK, and the US. As expected, the Galaxy S25 Edge and S25 FE are not included in the beta rollout. Due to the tight timeline, the chances of the Galaxy A56 entering the beta program remain very slim.
