Samsung Begins One UI 8.5 Testing for Galaxy S25 FE

Samsung has started internal testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 FE. The device was spotted on the official test servers with a One UI 8.5 build for the first time yesterday. This confirms that the company is actively working on bringing the next major update to the Fan Edition model, though it’s unlikely to get beta access.

The Galaxy S25 FE debuted running One UI 8 in September this year, and Samsung is now readying One UI 8.5 for the device. Test builds were spotted in several regions, including India, Europe, Korea, and Turkey. First reported by tipster Tarun Vats, the latest internal firmware carries version number S731BXXU3BYLD. It may not be the final build, though.

As expected, no One UI 8.5 beta build has appeared for the Galaxy S25 FE so far. Samsung usually does not include Fan Edition and Edge models in its beta programs, and the S25 FE is no exception. The beta program for the Galaxy S25 series went live last week. It is currently available in regions like Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with India and Poland set to join in the second phase next week.

One UI 8.5, based on Android 16 QPR2, brings visible UI refinements, a more customizable Quick Panel, improvements to the screen recorder, and many design changes across system apps like Settings, Phone, Messages, My Files, Clock, and Calculator. Currently in beta, this update will hit the stable channel with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026.
