Samsung Announces Third Sales Round for Galaxy Z TriFold

Samsung has announced a third sales round for its latest Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone in South Korea. The new batch will go on sale on Tuesday, January 6. This comes after the company’s two sales rounds last month, which sold out within minutes due to limited supply and solid consumer demand.

Third Galaxy Z TriFold sale set for tomorrow in South Korea

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold is the company’s first smartphone with a double-folding design, allowing the 6.5 device to transform into a large 10-inch display. When fully opened, the screen offers a workspace similar to three 6.5-inch smartphones sitting side by side. The phone features a slim profile, measuring just 3.9 mm at its thinnest point.

Samsung first released the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 12 in its home country, South Korea. However, all available units sold out in about five minutes. Likewise, the second batch on December 17 sold out in just 2 minutes. Due to the shortage, secondhand marketplaces are listing unopened TriFold units at prices 1.5 to 3 times higher than the official retail price (nearly 3.6 million won).

For the third sales round, Samsung said it will begin accepting orders on the official website at 10 a.m. on January 6. Offline sales will also take place at 20 major stores nationwide, including Samsung Gangnam in Seoul. If you visited stores during the second sales round but were unable to buy a device, you will get the purchase priority. The remaining stock will then be opened to the general public.

While it’s unclear how many units of Galaxy Z TriFold Samsung has prepared for the third sales round, the company appears to be releasing only a small quantity once again. However, the good news is that the company may continue restocking the Galaxy Z TriFold in small batches weekly throughout January. As for the US, buyers will have to wait a bit — the TriFold will hit stores sometime in the first quarter of 2026.
