Likewise, its operating profit decreased to KRW 4.7 trillion from KRW 6.7 trillion. In Q2 2024, Samsung’s sales revenue was KRW 74.07 trillion, but its profit was much higher at KRW 10.44 trillion.
Samsung shares revenue and profit across divisions in Q2 2025
Samsung’s Device Solutions (DS) Division saw increased revenue of KRW 27.9 trillion thanks to expanded sales of high-density and high-performance memory products. However, inventory value adjustments in memory and export restrictions related to China in non-memory products led to a decline in profitability. The division posted KRW 0.4 trillion in operating profit for the second quarter.
The reason behind the growth in revenue is increasing sales of HBM3E chips and high-density DDR5 products. Furthermore, its resumption of the datacenter projects helped the company to sell more server SSDs. Samsung also talked about its System LSI Business that earned solid revenue from shipments of flagship systems-on-a-chip (SoCs).
The company expects it will see strong server demand for both DRAM and NAND in the second half of the year. More importantly, during that period, the Foundry unit will start mass production of a new mobile SoC with the 2nm GAA process. This upcoming chip is targeted for use in the 2026 flagship mobile lineups, so the Galaxy S26 series may adopt it in at least some models.
Speaking of Samsung Display Corporation (SDC), the division posted KRW 6.4 trillion in revenue and KRW 0.5 trillion in profit in Q2 2025. Its mobile display business saw revenue increase thanks to strong demand for new smartphones from major customers, and growing sales in the IT and automotive segments.
MX Business performed well in terms of revenue and profit
In Q2 2025, the MX Business suffered a decline in smartphone shipments compared to Q1. However, both revenue and operating profit grew — it earned KRW 29.2 trillion and KRW 3.1 trillion, respectively. Thanks to the robust sales of the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy A series, and the Galaxy tablets.
The company’s Visual Display Business succeeded in increasing sales of premium products, such as Neo QLED and OLED TVs. It posted KRW 14.1 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 0.2 trillion in operating profit in the second quarter. The division now aims to capture peak-season demand to further increase revenue in the coming months.
