Samsung Announces One UI 8 Watch Stable Release, Global Rollout Soon

Samsung recently ended the One UI 8 Watch beta program for the Galaxy Watch Ultra in the US, pushing the stable build nationwide. The company has now officially announced the update, though it’s yet to expand to other markets. The stable release is not even live in South Korea, where the beta program is still ongoing. The Galaxy Watch 7, which participated in the beta alongside the Ultra, is also still waiting for its stable One UI 8 Watch release.

Samsung kicks off the One UI 8 Watch stable update

In a recent press release, Samsung confirmed that the One UI 8 Watch stable update is now available for the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The company specifically names the Ultra model, completely skipping the Watch 7. It’s unclear if this means a delayed release for the latter. As mentioned above, Samsung launched One UI 8 Watch beta programs for both models simultaneously, with beta updates available for interested users in the US and South Korea.

As of this writing, the stable build remains exclusive to the Galaxy Watch Ultra in the US. It should gradually reach users in other parts of the world and then expand to the Watch 7 and other models. All Wear OS-powered Samsung watches are eligible for One UI 8 Watch, i.e., from the Watch 4 series to the Watch 7, including the Watch FE and Ultra. The latest Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Ultra (2025) run the new version out of the box.

The One UI 8 Watch update introduces a refreshed interface with smarter, more flexible multi-info tiles, enhanced customization options, Gemini support, and deeper Now Bar integration. However, some health-related features will only be available on select newer models, as they rely on Samsung’s updated BioActive sensor. Curiously, Samsung skipped features like Bedtime Guidance and High Stress Alert in its press release, suggesting they might remain exclusive to the 2025 lineup. We shall find out soon.
