UPDATE (April 1, 2026): In a separate conversation, another customer support representative stated that the Galaxy S25 series “does not support call screening.” However, it’s unclear whether this means the feature will never arrive or if it’s being held for the stable One UI 8.5 update. Hopefully, it’s the latter, as there’s no hardware limitation preventing call screening from working on the Galaxy S25 or even select older phones.

The original article, published on March 30, 2026, follows:

One of the best features that the Galaxy S26 series running on One UI 8.5 brings is Call Screening. It’s not something flashy that you’ll only use a couple of times a month or brag about. It’s quietly one of those value-adding features that makes your life easier and is especially helpful if you receive a lot of calls on a daily basis.

The question now is whether the call screening feature will come to older Galaxy phones. A Samsung Community moderator (via Tarun Vats) has addressed this, although the wording is a bit confusing. The moderator said that, “unfortunately,” call screening is available starting with the Galaxy S26 series. That phrasing suggests it might not come to older phones, but the next line offers some good news.

Moderator hints Call Screening won’t be limited to Galaxy S26

They added, “however, One UI 8.5 will offer a variety of new features, including call screening,” and asked users to keep an eye out for it. If anything, that suggests call screening won’t be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series and could arrive on older phones with the One UI 8.5 stable update.

Which Samsung phones will actually support call screening is still unclear. For comparison, two of Samsung’s biggest rivals already offer broad support. The Google Pixel 3 (released in 2018) and later models support call screening. Similarly, all iPhones eligible for iOS 26 (starting with the iPhone 11) support call screening features. That gives some hope that, if Samsung chooses, it could bring the feature to more devices. I hope it does.
