One UI 8 Will Introduce Now Brief to Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung is preparing to bring Now Brief to the Galaxy S24 series with the upcoming One UI 8 update. A new internal build confirms that the feature is officially in testing for the 2024 flagships. The company originally omitted this feature from the S24’s One UI 7 update.

Now Brief is Samsung’s take on a dynamic, AI-powered glance screen that surfaces helpful, real-time info — like calendar events, reminders, smart suggestions, and more — directly on the lock screen. It debuted as a standout feature on the Galaxy S25 series running One UI 7. Despite their top-tier hardware, the Galaxy S24 series didn’t get Now Brief with the Android 15 update.

What puzzled many users was the fact that Now Brief worked flawlessly on S24 devices — and even some older Galaxy models — when sideloaded or enabled via third-party tools. That raised questions about whether Samsung’s initial omission was a strategic move rather than a technical limitation.

It now appears that’s exactly the case. With official support confirmed through test builds, Samsung is removing the artificial limitation. This will ensure a unified experience across its high-end phones. The Galaxy S24 trio should receive this AI tool once the stable One UI 8 update begins rolling out.

While no exact release date has been announced yet, the feature’s presence in internal testing builds suggests it won’t be long. Samsung recently launched its new Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE foldables, all of which ship with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 series is currently enrolled in the One UI 8 beta program and has already received multiple beta builds.
