One UI 8 Watch Beta Frustrates Users: No Updates After Enrolment

Samsung’s highly anticipated One UI 8 Watch beta, based on Wear OS 6, has officially launched. However, instead of excitement, many eligible users are left frustrated and confused. From a painfully restricted rollout to broken enrollment and update issues, the beta program is off to a disastrous start.
Enrollment issues plague Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch beta rollout
This beta program is available for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra in the US and South Korea. If that already sounds extremely limited, only users with the Bluetooth versions and T-Mobile-connected LTE models are eligible. Unlocked LTE models are being left out entirely, and so are carrier units on other networks. This move has disappointed a large segment of Samsung’s most loyal customers, especially those who deliberately bought unlocked versions to avoid carrier lock-in.
To make matters worse, even those who meet the criteria are running into problems. While some users are able to enroll in the beta via Samsung Members, they never receive the actual OTA update. Others can’t even enroll at all — the option throws an error, and no known workaround resolves the issue. Standard troubleshooting steps like withdrawing and re-enrolling in the beta, clearing the Samsung Members cache, or restarting the watch and phone have proven useless.
Samsung fans who were looking forward to testing out the new features of One UI 8 Watch, including faster performance, improved health tracking, and refined UI design, are now left in limbo. Several users have reported waiting hours for the update to arrive after enrollment, with no success.
As of this writing, Samsung hasn’t commented on the matter, so all users can do is wait. Hopefully, the company will resolve the issue soon, so eligible Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra users can install One UI 8 Watch beta and provide feedback for further development. Samsung plans to officially launch the new version at Unpacked on July 9. Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
