One UI 8 Watch nears a global release
Based on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch is Samsung’s updated smartwatch platform. It runs out of the box on the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), which release this Friday, July 2025. The update brings a host of meaningful upgrades, both in terms of design and functionality.
The new version is packed with advanced health features, smarter wellness tracking, and refined UI enhancements. Users can expect improved sleep coaching, more accurate heart rate zones, and personalized fitness insights. On the visual side, navigation feels snappier, while tiles and menus are more intuitive. The Korean firm has also polished animations for a smoother experience.
Ahead of its official launch, Samsung has been beta testing One UI 8 Watch on the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) and Watch 7 in the US and South Korea. It has now ended the beta program for the Ultra model in the US, confirming a stable release. This closure means the software is now ready for prime time.
Samsung may be planning to release the stable One UI 8 Watch update for its 2024 smartwatch lineup later this month. This update will also be available for the Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 5, Watch 4, and Watch FE. The former two lineups may even receive beta builds. Or maybe Samsung has dropped the idea and now plans a stable release in the coming weeks; we shall find out soon.
