One UI 8 Update for the Galaxy A73 Goes Global

The week has just kicked off, and Samsung is already picking up the pace. And what a pace it is! Several Galaxy devices have begun receiving the Android 16–based One UI 8 update, and the Galaxy A73 is now joining the lineup as well.
Samsung is finally pushing the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A73
Samsung appears to be rolling out the Android 16–based One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A73 globally. According to @modibosidibe04 on X, the build version in question is A736BXXUAGYJ1, and the update weighs in at around 2522.72 MB. As with other devices, it also includes the September 2025 security patch.
You can check if the update is available on your Galaxy A73 by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update finishes downloading, tap Install now. The installation process will take a little while. After which, your device will restart and boot up running the latest One UI 8.
Frankly, One UI 8 brings plenty of new additions and refinements. However, Samsung tends to reserve some features for its top-tier flagships, which means the Galaxy A73 won’t get everything the newer premium models do. Still, there are several quality-of-life improvements that you’re sure to appreciate.
We recommend checking out our guide on the first things to try after installing One UI 8, as well as exploring some hidden (read: cool) features tucked away in the new update. Do note, this is the final major update for the Galaxy A73, though it may still receive One UI 8.5 update.
Speaking of which, Samsung is already hard at work on One UI 8.5. It won’t roll out publicly before the Galaxy S26 series launches early next year, reports suggest that Samsung plans to roll out a One UI 8.5 beta next month. This beta will give select devices an early look at upcoming features, though which models will be eligible remains to be seen for now.
