One UI 8 Trickles Down to Galaxy M54, Rolling Out Widely

A recent report revealed that Samsung plans to launch the One UI 8.5 beta program by the end of November. To keep things smooth, the company appears focused on completing the One UI 8 rollout before then, and it’s right on track. The Android 16-based update is now reaching more Galaxy devices almost daily, with the Galaxy M54 being the latest to join the list.
Galaxy M54 receives Samsung’s One UI 8 update
Based on Android 16, One UI 8 is a major OS upgrade for Galaxy devices. It debuted in July, but a wider rollout only began in September. Samsung has already updated all recent flagships and foldables, as well as some mid-range models. The Galaxy M54 is now picking up One UI 8, with the update already live across several countries in Asia and Australia. The rollout should soon expand to the rest of the world.
The device is receiving the big update with the firmware build number M546BXXU9EYI4. While it isn’t eligible for advanced AI features, One UI 8 brings UI enhancements, optimizations, and other functional upgrades to the Galaxy M54. If you own this phone, you can check for updates from the Settings app. Go to the Software update menu and tap Download and install. If an update shows up, download it to proceed.
Launched with Android 13, the Galaxy M54 is eligible for four major OS updates. It will get Android 17-based One UI 9, which means it’s also eligible for One UI 8.5. While still based on Android 16, the next version brings another round of UI refinements and optimizations, alongside a host of new features to Galaxy devices.
The Galaxy M54 won’t receive beta updates, though. Samsung is expected to keep the One UI 8.5 beta program limited to select recent flagships. The update will debut with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026 before expanding to other models.
