One UI 8 Rollout Begins for Galaxy S21 FE

After much wait, Samsung is finally rolling out the One UI 8 update to the Galaxy S21 FE. Interestingly, it’s the only one in the Galaxy S21 series eligible for the Android 16–based update, mainly because it launched a year later and shipped with newer software. With this rollout, it joins the growing list of Galaxy devices that have already received the One UI 8 update in multiple regions.

Galaxy S21 FE is now receiving One UI 8 update in Vietnam and Thailand

SammyGuru’s Mohammed Khatri spotted the development. According to him, the One UI 8 update is now rolling out to the Galaxy S21 FE in Vietnam and Thailand. More specifically, the update is currently available for the Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos 2100 variant), which also suggests that the Snapdragon 888 variant should receive it soon as well.

The build version in question is G990EXXUIHYJ2, and it includes the September 2025 security patch. The update size is around 2.24GB. If you own a Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos) and live in either of these countries, you can install the update right away. Just head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download finishes, tap Install now, and your phone will take some time to update and reboot into the new software.

Frankly, There’s a lot to enjoy with the One UI 8 update, and an upcoming update will only be better. The One UI 8.5 update may bring even more features to your device. The Galaxy S21 FE will most likely receive One UI 8.5 as well, unless Samsung decides otherwise. Reports suggest that Samsung plans to open the beta program for One UI 8.5 in late November, though it’s still unclear which devices will be eligible.
