One UI 8 Refines the Experience with Smoother App Animations

Samsung may not have introduced many new features in One UI 8, but it brings several under-the-hood refinements. One notable improvement is in the app launch animations, which now feel even smoother and more responsive. In addition, the updated Home Up module further enhances the animation experience.
Samsung doubles down on animations with One UI 8
With each iteration of One UI, Samsung has refined its software while introducing meaningful features. One UI 7 was a significant upgrade, bringing a major overhaul to the user interface and a host of new features. On top of that, it introduced smoother, more fluid animations throughout the system.
Building on that progress, the latest One UI 8 makes the interface feel even more fluid and modern. More importantly, app launch animations now feel more seamless. Noted tipster @UniverseIce recently posted several videos on X showcasing app transition animations in One UI 8, and they look incredibly smooth.
As you can see in the video below, where the tipster compared animations between One UI 7 and One UI 8, the whole experience is more refined in the newer version. Note that some of these enhanced animations are further improved with the Home Up module, part of Good Lock suite of customization apps.

Samsung recently updated its Home Up module with One UI 8 support. The new version adds the ability to customize app launch animations, letting you tweak how apps animate when opened. “Thanks to the new version of Home Up, Samsung’s One UI 8 has reached unparalleled heights in app transition animations,” the tipster noted.
Long-time Galaxy users will surely appreciate these enhancements. However, you will need to wait a few more weeks — the company may begin rolling out the One UI 8 update for older Galaxy devices next month. As of now, the stable One UI 8 build is available on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE. The beta version is currently live for the Galaxy S25 series in select regions. Stay tuned — we will let you know as soon as Samsung begins rolling out the new software.
