Samsung’s One UI 8 update may still be in the testing phase and limited to the Galaxy S25 series, but that hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from getting an early taste. One such user managed to sideload an internal build onto a Galaxy S23, and the results are turning heads. A video shared on X shows the device running One UI 8 with surprisingly smooth and stable animations, despite the software being unfinished.

One UI 8 delivers incredibly smooth animations on a Galaxy S23

X user @Topraks9plus recently posted a video allegedly showing a Galaxy S23 running One UI 8. The 10-second video gives us a sneak peek into the refreshed animation system. It highlights carefully crafted animations during app launches and exits, along with a preview of the Back swipe gesture. We can see silky transitions and fluid gesture responses that make the device feel like a whole new phone.

These animation improvements are expected to give the Galaxy S23 (and other eligible phones) a more polished, premium feel. Samsung began refining the One UI experience with the Android 15-based One UI 7 and continues to build on that with its Android 16 update. We have been using One UI 8 on multiple Galaxy devices for several weeks now, and the interface looks more fluid, better optimized, and more visually consistent.

And yes, we are talking about a “beta” software, not the final version. Samsung has so far rolled out three public beta builds for the Galaxy S25 series, while its servers also host internal test builds for a bunch of other devices. The final version will officially debut at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9. It will run out of the box on the new foldables. We’ll likely get a rollout roadmap for other eligible models following their market release, so stay tuned.
