One UI 8 Leaks Reveal Redesigned Samsung Calendar and My Files for DeX

In recent weeks, One UI 8 versions of several Samsung apps have leaked online, revealing early glimpses of what’s coming with the next OS update. As the beta launch draws closer, even more app updates are surfacing. Most recently, a leaked version of the Samsung Calendar app has appeared, showcasing notable design changes. Additionally, the Samsung DeX interface for My Files is set to receive improvements in One UI 8.

One UI 8’s Calendar app leaked early

Samsung is internally testing the One UI 8 Beta update, and early leaks reveal a refreshed Calendar app with a modern, cleaner design. Screenshots shared by @theordysm on X show a deeper black background for better visual comfort, rounded event cards, updated icons, softer “Dismiss” and “Snooze” buttons for event alerts, and a new tabbed layout for creating Events and Reminders.

Additionally, Samsung has improved search filters with pill-shaped sections. The X user also posted a video showing animations across One UI 8’s Calendar app. While there’s no major overhaul there, animations do look smoother. These changes reflect Samsung’s broader push to modernize stock apps. Reminder, Galler, My Files, and many other apps are getting a visual and functional overhaul in One UI 8.

Besides Calendar, we also have visuals from the updated Samsung DeX UI for My Files. X user @Gamer0mega shared a screenshot showing how the app shows the file path as you go deeper into folders. While DeX is built for using your phone in a desktop environment, this redesign could also come to the stock My Files app for Samsung’s foldables and tablets, which have larger screens.

The first One UI 8 public beta could arrive this week or in early June 2025. Samsung has already laid the groundwork, publishing official beta pages across its community forums in several global markets and notifying users about the beta registration process. Stay tuned for the launch.
