With the One UI 7 rollout fully underway, the focus on the next major version is making excellent progress. The latest internal build of One UI 8 on the Z Flip 6 has leaked out, with some small but constructive changes. Why don’t we take a sneak peek?
Z Flip 6’s Cover screen sees proper Now Bar implementation with One UI 8
On the Z Flip 6’s cover screen, ongoing activities like media playback appear in the bottom left corner. But with One UI 7, the majority of Live Notifications don’t appear. So items like Sports scores won’t appear. That appears to be changing with One UI 8. X user @gamer0mega showed off multiple Live Notifications appearing on the cover screen, including Now Brief, Stopwatch and a new Media Player design. These have expanded variants as well.

The name of the game with One UI 8, especially on the Z Flip 6, is minor, quality-of-life changes that make the experience nicer to use. The Weather app got a significant redesign, Samsung Internet got a gigantic overhaul, with new features to suit, along with other minor changes to various apps. We are expecting it to release with the upcoming Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 devices in the summer.. Post which, Galaxy S25 series will be the first one to receive One UI 8.0 update. Stay tuned for further developments and future leaks.
