Check Out One UI 8.5’s Revamped Software Update Screen

It looks like several changes are happening behind the scenes, many of which may end up in the final One UI 8.5 update. We’ve already covered new features coming with One UI 8.5, including updates to the Phone app, new Ask Gemini and Ask Bixby actions in Routines, a redesigned My Files app, Quick Panel customization, and more. Another small but visually appealing change is also coming to the Software update screen in One UI 8.5.
Here’s your first look at Software update screen in One UI 8.5!
While running a One UI 8.5 build, we noticed that the Software update screen has undergone a major overhaul and looks much cleaner. The old segmented blocks have been replaced with a single section, and the layout and typography are more minimal. The gradient background keeps the familiar One UI 8 colors, so it feels familiar but refreshed. Sure, it feels more easy on the eyes. Check out the screenshot below.

Keep in mind that these changes won’t arrive before the Galaxy S26 series launches, which means the One UI 8.5 update is at least three months away. Thanks to the leaked build, we already have a good idea of the features coming at launch. Since this isn’t the final build, Samsung could still add more features or remove some for a later rollout.
If you’re planning to buy the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, don’t forget to sign up for the Mystery Box program. You’ll get a free box of goodies with your purchase, including a case, a cleaning kit, a desktop stand, a 65W charger, and more surprises in the box. (US only)
