One UI 8.5 May Let You Record 24-Bit High-Quality Audio Over Bluetooth

Samsung may soon unveil the Galaxy S26 series, and it will likely launch with One UI 8.5. At the moment, the update is available only as a beta for the Galaxy S25 series. What we know so far suggests it will be a substantial update, packing in a range of new features, and leaks continue to surface. A new leak reveals that One UI 8.5 could introduce support for high quality audio input.
Samsung might finally enable 24-bit audio over Bluetooth in One UI 8.5
Samsung is preparing a meaningful upgrade to audio recording in One UI 8.5 with Advanced Audio, according to Galaxy Techie. It will allow Galaxy devices to record 24-bit audio through Bluetooth microphones. Right now, Bluetooth input is limited to 16-bit audio. Moving to 24-bit means recordings can capture more detail and a wider dynamic range between quiet and loud sounds.

Support currently appears limited to select DJI microphones, including the DJI Mic Mini, Mic Mini 2, Mic 2, and Mic 3. That means users can connect these microphones directly to their phone without needing a separate receiver during a shoot. Samsung hasn’t confirmed whether its own future audio products, such as the Galaxy Buds 4 series, will support this feature. If it does, we can expect Samsung to mention this during Unpacked.
One notable addition is the ability to record from two Bluetooth microphones at the same time. This could make Galaxy phones and tablets more practical for content creators. They’ll also be able to adjust settings like gain, which controls microphone sensitivity, and noise reduction, which reduces background sound. Quick controls could appear in the Now Bar.
More importantly, this feature isn’t available in any of the latest official builds. That means one of two things. Either Samsung will roll it out in the next beta round, or it may debut directly with the stable version. We’ll let you know whether it’s impressive or if it’s just a gimmick.
