The One UI 8.5 beta program is now live, which means we’re one step closer to the stable updates that starts with the Galaxy S26 series. As we move ahead, Samsung is preparing a new round of Galaxy AI upgrades for One UI 8.5, and one of them has popped up in a leaked Galaxy Z Fold 7 build.

Galaxy AI in One UI 8.5 may make mixing two photos as simple as typing

As spotted by SamMobile, One UI 8.5 will feature a photo editing tool that can pull objects from multiple images and rebuild a scene exactly the way you describe it. Inside the Gallery app, there is a Galaxy AI button that now opens a Photo Assist panel. Instead of relying on sliders or cutout tools, Photo Assist gives you a text box where you can simply explain what you want changed.

You can ask the phone to place a new object in the frame, erase something that feels distracting, or adjust a specific part of the shot. The idea is to let you talk to the editor rather than learn how to use one. What makes this feature stand out is the option to borrow content from another picture.

You can pick the toy image and tell Galaxy AI to rebuild the cat photo as if the toy was actually there. The phone then generates a blended version that tries to match lighting, depth, and position so the end result feels natural. Samsung even shows a short example clip of this behavior inside the Tips app of the leaked build.

Right now, this tool is only described in the firmware and does not work when you try to use it. It is missing from the first One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy S25 as well. Samsung could switch it on later during the beta cycle, although it would not be surprising if the company holds it for the Galaxy S26 announcement early next year. I hope more people will start using Galaxy AI for photo editing after it goes live.
