One UI 8.5 Beta and Security Patch Updates Released This Week (Dec 7-14)

The One UI 8.5 beta program officially went live this week for the Galaxy S25 series in select regions. Alongside this, Samsung has also picked up pace with the December 2025 security patch rollout, as several Galaxy devices received the update over the past few days. At the same time, the One UI 8 rollout still remains incomplete in many regions, while the November 2025 security patch rollout appears to be slowing down. Last updated on December 13.
Galaxy Devices updated with One UI 8.5 beta, One UI 8, and security patches this week
Samsung opened the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra in regions such as Korea, Germany, the US, and the UK. As expected, the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy S25 Edge are not part of the beta program. Only the core S25 lineup, including the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra is eligible in regions where the beta is live. The stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year.
When it comes to One UI 8, the rollout is still not complete. Samsung has released the Android 16 based One UI 8 update for a few Galaxy Tab A9+ variants in regions like China, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. However, many regions are still waiting for the update to arrive. With the stable One UI 8.5 launch getting closer, Samsung will need to speed up the One UI 8 rollout in the coming weeks. On the wearable side, Samsung rolled out the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 6 LTE in India.
