Right on the heels of the Galaxy S26 launch, Samsung has rolled out a new One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series, the sixth beta update for the 2025 flagships. It is a relatively minor release with key bug fixes, potentially driving the software toward a full stable version.

Galaxy S25 lineup gets another One UI 8.5 beta update

One UI 8.5 will be available out of the box on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. Meanwhile, Samsung is testing the update for existing devices, with multiple beta releases for the Galaxy S25 lineup. The latest, Beta 6, arrives with an OTA file size of 568MB for the S25 Ultra and carries firmware version ZZAO. The update is already available widely for registered users in India, Germany, Korea, and other supported markets.

While it’s not a major feature drop, this release focuses on bug fixes and system polish to improve overall stability. It brings six key bug fixes:

  • Fixed an issue with the Bixby > Labs > Create wake-up phrase feature
  • Fixed an issue where two “View Previous Image” buttons appeared when using the sketch conversion feature in the Gallery
  • Fixed issues with the text, icons, and AOD visibility of Now Bar/Now Brief recommendation cards
  • Fixed a forced close issue when changing the camera area settings in Settings > Display
  • Fixed an issue where the lock screen style of Basic mode was changed in Modes and Routines
  • Improved animation related to notification cards

Most of the changes focus on visual consistency and bug fixes rather than introducing new capabilities. This suggests that Samsung is entering the final stages of testing. The stable One UI 8.5 update is expected to roll out publicly in March, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. We will keep you posted with the latest developments.
