One UI 8.5 Turns Auracast Into More User-Friendly Audio Broadcast

We now have a fair idea of every new feature slated to arrive with the next big update. So far, we’ve learned about a bunch of additions that will launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series. One such reveals that Samsung is giving its Auracast feature a major refresh in the next big One UI 8.5 update, introducing a redesigned Audio broadcast option.

Samsung will bring revamped Audio broadcast with One UI 8.5

Auracast, built on Bluetooth LE Audio, has been part of Galaxy devices for a while. It allows a phone to beam audio to multiple receivers at once, whether that’s Galaxy Buds, third-party earbuds, or even hearing aids. It’s especially handy in places like airports, cinemas, or classrooms, where listeners can simply tune in without going through the hassle of Bluetooth pairing.

With One UI 8.5, the feature is getting a full revamp. A new Audio broadcast menu now shows up under Settings > Connected devices. Samsung describes it as a way to broadcast “music, voice, or other sounds” from your phone so that anyone nearby can listen, with no cap on the number of connected listeners as long as they’re within range. Basically, the description is same as the Auracast, as it should be.

The interface itself looks much cleaner than what shipped with Auracast in One UI 8. On launch, users are greeted with a welcome screen that splits the feature into two clear modes: Voice and Media. Two large buttons at the bottom let you pick between Share and Listen, aligning with the rest of One UI 8.5’s updated design language.

This change suggests Samsung wants Auracast to feel more approachable and less like a hidden Bluetooth trick. By making it simple to share or join a broadcast, the feature could finally reach a wider audience and become a regular part of Galaxy users’ daily habits.

The Audio broadcast option will out as part of One UI 8.5, which is still in internal testing. So you’ll need to wait a little as it’s not coming before Galaxy S26 series hits the shelves, and that will happen in early 2026.
