Samsung’s One UI 7 update is now widely available for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in the US. The company has resumed the rollout with a hotfix for users who installed the buggy release earlier this month. The update is live for both carrier-locked and unlocked units, though it could take a while to reach all eligible users across the nation.
Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6 get the One UI 7 hotfix in the US
Shortly after its release on April 10, Samsung abruptly halted the One UI 7 rollout in the US and other markets due to bugs. It discovered critical bugs and decided to suspend the update to fix them. After a week-long delay, the company resumed the rollout in Korea. The hotfix is now available for Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6 users in the US.
Of course, the hotfix only applies to those who installed the original version pushed earlier this month. Those who didn’t receive that update or held off installing it should pick up a new release containing the patches. The update size varies depending on the model and carrier variant, but expect it to weigh around 5GB. The hotfix is much smaller, weighing less than 500MB.
With this release, Samsung has cleared the way for One UI 7 for other eligible Galaxy devices in the US. It has already pushed the stable version to the Galaxy S23, S24 FE, Fold 5, Flip 5, Tab S10, and Tab S9 in Korea. It’s only a matter of time before the company expands the rollout to cover these devices in the rest of the world. We will keep you posted accordingly.
Meanwhile, Galaxy users can check for updates manually from the Settings app on their phones or tablets. Go to the Software update menu and tap Download and install to see if a new update is available. If not, wait a few days and check again.
