Something clearly went wrong after the release. Curiously, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s firmware is still available in those same regions. That’s unusual, because if it were a software-wide issue, you would expect all models to be affected. This suggests a more specific problem, possibly tied to certain hardware.
A likely culprit is the Exynos 2400 chip, which powers the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in most countries outside the US and a few other markets. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, uses a Snapdragon chip globally. In the US, where all Galaxy S24 models run on Snapdragon, the firmware hasn’t been pulled either. All signs point to an Exynos-related issue.
So far, Samsung hasn’t provided any details about why the update was pulled or when it might be released again. It’s possible they discovered a bug or performance issue that only affects Exynos-powered devices, but without an official statement, it’s all just informed speculation.
Whatever the issue is, it doesn’t seem to be affecting all regions or models equally, which only adds to the mystery. Hopefully, Samsung will clarify things soon, possibly early next week. Until then, S24 and S24+ users in the affected regions will have to wait and see what happens next. We’ll also monitor what happens on Monday because regions such as India and Türkiye haven’t received the update either.
