Galaxy Tab A9 series grabs Samsung’s One UI 7 update
The One UI 7 update for the Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+ comes with firmware version ending in DYDA and requires a 2.5GB download. The massive size is indicative of the plethora of content it brings. One UI 7 delivers a modernized interface and long-awaited features like a vertically scrolling app drawer, redesigned icons, and larger home screen folders.
Users also gain more control over widget placement and customization. Additionally, Samsung has updated several stock apps with a cleaner look and better usability, giving the entire system a polished, more cohesive feel. You also get AI-driven experiences across various apps.
Alongside One UI 7, this release includes the March 2025 security patch for the Galaxy Tab A9 duo, improving device security and stability. To check for the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update is available for your device, follow the prompts to get started. Since this is a huge update, we recommend installing it over a Wi-Fi connection. Also, ensure that your device has sufficient battery life.
While the update arrived late, Samsung has maintained a solid schedule with the One UI 7 rollout. The company quickly expanded availability across its product range.
