US Galaxy S22 and S21 units receive One UI 7 across the nation
Last week, Samsung released One UI 7 for a bunch of Galaxy devices in the US. The Galaxy S22 and S21 lineups were among the group of devices that picked up the new One UI version. However, as we often see with these kinds of big updates, it was a phased rollout. The company only covered select carrier-locked units in the first phase.
We can now confirm a nationwide rollout of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra in the US. The 2022 flagship lineup is getting the firmware version FYDB, while it’s HYDA for the 2021 flagships. Both lineups are picking up massive OTA files weighing several gigabytes, indicating the massive scale of this update. The April 2025 security patch is part of the package.
Based on Android 15, One UI 7 marks Samsung’s latest step forward in refining the Galaxy experience. This update focuses on smarter personalization, improved multitasking, and deeper AI integration. With a cleaner interface and more fluid animations, One UI 7 builds on Samsung’s design language while introducing new features like the Now Bar and Now Brief.
