One UI 7 Nightmare Continues: Samsung Halts Rollout Due to ‘Serious Bug’

by | Apr 14, 2025 | News, One UI

After significant delays, Samsung finally released its much-anticipated One UI 7 update last week. However, the excitement was short-lived. Just days after the rollout began, the company has quietly pulled the firmware from its servers, halting the update. Reports suggest Samsung discovered a serious bug in the stable build, prompting this halt.

Samsung halts One UI 7 update after discovering a serious bug

A couple of days ago, reports emerged that Samsung has paused the One UI 7 rollout for the Exynos-powered Galaxy S24 and S24+, suggesting a hardware-related bug. However, it appears the update has now been halted for all three Galaxy S24 models, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. This likely means a bigger issue stemming from the software rather than the Exynos 2400 chipset.

According to tipster Ice Univerese, Samsung discovered a “serious bug” shortly after it released One UI 7 in some markets. As of this writing, the update has reached the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold SE in Korea, Europe, the US, and Canada. Interestingly, the rollout still appears to be live in the latter two markets, supporting the theory that Exynos is at the heart of the problem.

Samsung has yet to make any official statements regarding the cause of the rollback or when the update will resume. The company’s silence is only adding to user frustration. The situation is especially disappointing considering how long users have already waited for One UI 7. The update should have arrived months ago but has faced delay after delay, and now, with the latest bug, the timeline remains uncertain.

All eyes are now on Samsung to provide clarity — hopefully, soon. Until then, Galaxy users in affected regions can do little more than wait. We’ll keep monitoring the situation and provide updates as soon as Samsung shares more details or resumes the rollout.
