Samsung continues to expand its One UI 7 rollout to more markets. The update is now live for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in Canada. This follows a wide release in Korea, Europe, and the US over the past few days. It should just be a matter of time before One UI 7 reaches these devices worldwide.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 get One UI 7 in Canada
The Android 15-based One UI 7 update is rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in Canada with the same build versions as the rest of the world. The former is getting the build number BYCK, while the latter is getting the build number BYCJ. Both models are picking up OTA (over the air) packages weighing more than 5GB. The package includes the April security patch alongside One UI 7 goodies.
Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, Samsung has released One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series in Korea, Europe, and the US. However, as of this writing, the update doesn’t seem to have reached Canadian S24 units. The wait shouldn’t be much longer, though. Users can check for updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One UI 7 brings system-wide improvements in performance, privacy, and AI integration. You get smarter AI tools for photography and productivity, enhanced multitasking and animations, new customization options and lock screen widgets, better battery optimization, and a UI overhaul. It’s a massive update (which the OTA file size clearly indicates) for Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
After the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6, Samsung plans to release One UI 7 for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Tab S10, and other 2023 devices. However, older Galaxy smartphones and tablets may not receive the update until May or June, depending on the region and model. We will keep you posted.
