Last week, Samsung released the November 2025 security update for a bunch of Galaxy devices. The company is now bringing the latest security fixes to more eligible models, including the Galaxy S21 FE, Xcover 7 Pro, and Tab Active 5. Expect more devices to join the party in the coming days.
Samsung rolls out November update for the Galaxy S21 FE, Xcover 7 Pro, and more
The Galaxy S21 FE is currently receiving this month’s security update in the US. The new SMR (Security Maintenance Release) is available for carrier-locked units with the firmware build number G990USQSKIYK2. It should soon expand to unlocked units worldwide. The official changelog confirms that the update is all about the latest security fixes with no additional changes.
Samsung has already revealed that the November 2025 SMR addresses more than 40 vulnerabilities across the Galaxy ecosystem. These include security flaws in Google’s version of Android OS, as well as Samsung’s custom One UI services and other system components.
These fixes are also rolling out to the Galaxy Xcover 7 Pro and Tab Active 5. We can confirm the November update for the former in Korea with the build number G766NKSS4BYK2. The latter is picking up the update in Europe, where users are getting a bump to firmware version X356BXXS4BYK2. Expect a global rollout for all three models in the coming days.
If you are using these devices, head over to Settings, go to the Software update menu, and tap Download and install to check for updates manually. If an update shows up, you can download the OTA package and proceed to install it. Otherwise, wait a few days and check again. You may also receive a notification once the OTA rollout hits your unit, so keep an eye out for it.
