This year, Samsung has skipped its usual Samsung Developer Conference (SDC), an event where it presents advancements in software and platform development. Instead, the company will hold a new online event called the Samsung Tech Conference 2025 (STC2025) on November 20. It has opened registration for interested participants through a dedicated web portal.

Samsung’s STC2025 event will focus on AI and future technologies

STC2025 is an open technology sharing platform, offering participants insights into a wide range of technologies. The conference will begin with an opening address from Jeon Kyung-hoon, CTO of Samsung Electronics’ DX Division and President of Samsung Research. In his speech, he will talk about the future direction of technologies and industries led by AI. Samsung’s vision for the “AI Transformation (AX)” era will also be shared through various sessions.

The event will feature several keynote presentations by Samsung research executives:

  • Kwon Jung-hyun will introduce AI-applied robot control technology.
  • Kwon Ho-beom will present Tizen OS with integrated smart features.
  • Kim Sang-ha will share AI agent technology for improving productivity.
  • Hwang Yong-ho will explain AI-based security innovation.

In addition to Samsung executives, Jim Zemlin, Chairman of the Linux Foundation, will talk on the latest trends in open-source AI technology.

Samsung plans to share around 40 of its major research achievements through technology sessions. These will include uses of AI to improve productivity, automatically detect software vulnerabilities, and optimize communication networks. Other sessions will cover personalized SmartThings services, Samsung Health SDK, and Samsung Wallet AI application technology.

“Through STC2025, Samsung Electronics plans to present a vision for the AX era, where AI redefines everything, and discuss various knowledge to help technology experts grow together,” said Jinmin Jeong, Executive Vice President and Head of the Software Innovation Center at Samsung Research.

Samsung says that after the online event, it will make all sessions available on demand, so people can watch them anytime. This means you can still view the sessions even if you didn’t register in advance. If you want to learn more about STC2025, visit www.stckorea.com.
