No Delay for Galaxy S26 Series — New Report Hints at January Launch

After weeks of speculation, Samsung appears to have settled its launch plans for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. While earlier reports hinted at a month’s delay, the Korean media now suggests the company is sticking to its traditional early-year schedule. The new flagships will reportedly go official at the end of January 2026, followed by a market release in February.
Galaxy S26 series may launch on time, after all
If reports are accurate, Samsung made some last-minute adjustments to the Galaxy S26 lineup. The base model will reportedly drop the “Pro” branding, while the S26 Edge has been canceled altogether. In its place, Samsung plans to revive the S26+ as the lineup’s middle-tier option.
A company official previously suggested that these changes could push back the launch, with early reports pointing to a February 25, 2026, unveiling. That would have placed the market release in March, possibly around the second week. However, it now appears that Samsung has resolved those delays, clearing the way for a timely launch of the Galaxy S26 series.
“The release was almost delayed due to the longer hardware verification period by removing the edge and adding a plus model, but this problem has been resolved, and the release is now possible in February next year,” Korean publication ChosunBiz quoted a source familiar with the matter. While not an official confirmation, this raises hope that the next-gen Samsung flagships won’t face a delay.
Samsung’s decision to discontinue the Edge model appears to be rooted in disappointing sales figures. The Galaxy S25 Edge reportedly underperformed, selling just 1.31 million units within three months of launch. In comparison, the Galaxy S25+ sold 5.05 million units. That’s a 74% lower sales volume, a gap large enough to prompt Samsung to rethink its lineup.
With the lineup’s final development hurdles seemingly cleared, the three Galaxy S26 phones could soon enter mass production. We will let you know when we have more information.
