The Exynos 2600 may not be the underdog we thought it was. A fresh correction to previously leaked Geekbench 6 scores paints a far more optimistic picture of Samsung’s upcoming flagship chipset. Shared by a known tipster, @OreXda, this revised data claims that the earlier numbers were based on outdated assumptions about Samsung Foundry’s 2nm yield. With a more accurate 40% yield factored in, the performance outlook for the Exynos 2600 suddenly looks substantially more competitive.

Corrected benchmark scores show a big jump for Samsung’s Exynos 2600

The updated Geekbench 6 figures for the Exynos 2600 are 2,950 for single-core CPU tests and 10,200 for multi-core tests. That’s a solid jump from the previously reported 2,400/9,400 numbers. The tipster says the earlier estimates were based on a 10% mass production yield, which severely underestimated the chip’s potential.

Now, with the yield correction to 40% — in line with Samsung’s actual 2nm GAA process capability — the Exynos 2600 appears far more respectable in the high-end SoC race.

While Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 (both 3nm chips) may still post higher benchmark scores (around 4,000 single-core and 11,000 multi-core), the new Exynos numbers narrow the gap significantly. The Exynos 2600 might not dominate the charts, but it no longer looks like a huge step behind either. This is a huge win for Samsung Foundry.

This also gives Samsung’s mobile division a much better footing as it aims to use its in-house processor in the Galaxy S26 series next year. If the chip’s real-world efficiency turns out to match or beat its rivals, the Exynos 2600 could revive the Korean firm’s underperforming chip business.

The GPU performance and thermal management also play a big role in defining a chip’s overall capability. However, the gap between the Exynos 2600 and its rivals may not be as dramatic as first feared. Expect more details to emerge about these chips in the coming months.
