Samsung is expected to launch new premium wireless earbuds alongside the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026. The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro will succeed the Buds 3 Pro introduced in mid-2024. There may also be a base Buds 4 model in the pipeline. A new One UI 8.5 leak reveals key details about the upcoming earbuds, including a major design overhaul and features.

Galaxy Buds 4 series moves in a new design direction

With the Galaxy Buds 3 series, Samsung kicked off a new design era featuring a stem-based shape paired with a blade-style LED light bar. The upcoming models are expected to follow the same general formula, but the stem itself may look completely different.

Good folks at Android Authority recently discovered that the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro (codenamed Bach) will ditch the sharp, triangular stem in favor of a flatter, cleaner design. The LED blade is missing too, suggesting Samsung is moving toward a more minimalist aesthetic this time around. The base Buds 4 (codenamed Handel) may move in a similar design direction.

The publication also found animations showing changes to the charging case. Samsung is seemingly moving away from the traditional “vertical drop-in” placement. Instead, users will lay the earbuds flat inside the case, allowing for a more stable fit and potentially better overall ergonomics.

The animations found within an internal One UI 8.5 build further show redesigned in-ear tips, suggesting Samsung may be refining comfort and passive noise isolation as well. The Korean firm clearly sees a need to refine its TWS experience and is gearing up for several notable changes. It is focusing on modernizing the look and simplifying the hardware for an improved everyday user experience.

Major new features are coming

Additionally, the leak reveals a major new feature coming to the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro: Head Gestures. Code strings indicate that users will be able to control a wide range of actions using head gestures. Beyond answering or declining calls, which a few other earphones can already do, the feature is designed to work across multiple system prompts and alerts.

Users will be able to respond to calls, notifications, and prompts by nodding or shaking their head. They can also hear notifications read aloud or stop the reading, dismiss alarms, timers, Calendar events, and Reminder alerts, answer yes/no questions, end interactions with an AI assistant, and use hands-free controls when touching the phone isn’t possible.

Other confirmed features include 360° audio recording, Adaptive Noise Control, Find My Phone support, and Quick pairing across phones and tablets. With all this, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are shaping up to be a huge upgrade. More details should continue to surface as Samsung moves closer to its expected early-2026 launch window.
