Lightroom Adds HDR Editing Support for Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25

Many of you may already be using Adobe Lightroom to put the final polish on an otherwise great photo. If not, this update gives you a solid reason to start. Adobe is rolling out a new Lightroom update that adds HDR editing support for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 series.
Lightroom update v11.1.0 adds HDR editing support for Galaxy S24 and S25
The update arrives with Lightroom version 11.1.0, which is now available on the Google Play Store. According to the app’s official changelog (h/t @Wvisioncreation!), the release includes several additions. However, the HDR editing support for the Galaxy S24 and S25 series is the headline feature.
So what does this actually mean in day-to-day use? Galaxy S24 and S25 series phones feature HDR-capable displays that can show brighter highlights, deeper contrast, and more detail in both shadows and bright areas. Until now, even if your phone could capture or display HDR content, edits made in Lightroom were still largely constrained to standard dynamic range.
With HDR editing enabled, adjustments in Lightroom can take full advantage of the phone’s display. This lets you see brighter skies, more realistic lighting, and better overall depth while editing. It is especially useful for photos shot in challenging lighting conditions, such as sunsets, night scenes with bright signs, or indoor shots with strong window light. Your edits now better reflect what the screen is capable of showing, rather than flattening everything into a more limited range.
Beyond HDR, Lightroom version 11.1.0 also improves sharing. You can now move straight from editing to sharing custom photo albums using a link or QR code. Best part, all of this works without a subscription. Adobe has also added new camera and lens support, which should improve compatibility with more devices and shooting modes.
