Samsung may be preparing to take the wraps off the Galaxy S26 series in late February, which would also mean pre-orders open right away. If so, shipments should begin in March. You may have already heard that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support 60W wired charging with Super Fast Charging 3.0. Now, we may have a clearer idea of what improvements this upgrade will actually bring.

Galaxy S26 Ultra charging speed leak points to possible gains

Noted tipster Ice Universe on X says that “official test results” for the Galaxy S26 Ultra confirm it can charge from 0 to 75% in 30 minutes. The tipster also notes that real-world charging results may vary, since these tests are typically conducted in controlled environments. Still, that would be a meaningful improvement over its predecessor.

In our tests, the Galaxy S25 Ultra actually charges faster than its predecessor, even though both are capped at 45W wired charging. More importantly, this is due to higher voltage, which gives the S25 Ultra a clear advantage. In practice, the Galaxy S25 Ultra charges from 0 to 100% in about 59 minutes, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra takes roughly an hour and six minutes to reach a full charge.

With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, we’ll want to see how quickly it can charge from 0 to 100%. Several factors affect charging performance, including voltage and temperature, which can vary by location. The jump to 60W charging should deliver real gains, further reducing the time needed for a full charge.

In addition, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is reportedly set to support Qi2.2 wireless charging, along with 25W fast wireless charging. These would be solid upgrades over its predecessor. Reaching 0 to 75% in 30 minutes sounds especially promising. We look forward to sharing more about the Galaxy S26 Ultra once it officially launches.
