Right on cue, December is the month when leaks start carrying more weight for the upcoming Samsung flagship lineup. It is also usually the time when we get a clearer idea of what might actually be coming. Keep in mind that things can still change at the last minute, but a spec comparison from reliable leaker Ice Universe gives us a good look at what to expect from the Galaxy S26 series.

One thing Ice points out is that Samsung will bring back the classic trio of Galaxy S phones. That is not surprising at all, since leaks have consistently said Samsung will stick with the three-model setup for the launch planned early next year. So it is safe to assume we will see the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra when the curtains finally come up. Now let’s take a look at how each one stacks up against its predecessor.

Galaxy S26: Some things to like, some things that barely move the needle

There are quite a few changes, at least according to the leaked spec sheet. One of the obvious ones is the bump in screen size, which might move up to 6.3 inches with an FHD+ resolution. It looks like the refresh rate and peak brightness will stay the same. The processor will definitely get an upgrade, and Samsung might go with a dual-chip strategy again.

Another noticeable change is the minimum storage. It might finally jump to 256 GB, which is definitely a welcome upgrade. As for the cameras, they seem likely to stay the same, and the charging speed probably will too. Samsung may also give the battery a small boost, though that could come with a bit more weight but a slightly thinner body.

Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S26

Galaxy S26+: The Plus name fits the weight and screen size, but not much else

There usually aren’t many differences between the base and Plus models, and that pattern seems to hold this time as well. The upcoming Galaxy S26+ doesn’t look like it will bring major changes compared to its predecessor, but there are still a few tweaks. One of the noticeable ones is the increase in screen size to 6.3 inches.

The camera setup will likely stay the same, and the base storage option probably will too. Most of the change seems to be on the processor side, where we might see both the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Exynos 2600, depending on the region. Reports and Samsung’s own hints have been pointing in this direction for a while. The Galaxy S26+ might also end up weighing a little more than the previous model.

Galaxy S25 Plus vs Galaxy S26 Plus

Galaxy S26 Ultra: This is where things finally get Ultra

According to the leaked spec sheet, the biggest upgrades might be coming to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That is not surprising at all, since most leaks so far have pointed in that direction. The sheet mentions that Samsung will use an M14 OLED panel, which would be a nice step up from the current one. It also suggests that Samsung might ship the S26 Ultra globally with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Memory and storage options appear to remain the same.

The camera setup seems mostly unchanged, though the 3x telephoto sensor might get a small upgrade. In contrast to some earlier rumors, the leak claims the battery capacity will stay the same, but the charging speed will get a real boost. It may even be branded as Super Fast Charging 3.0, based on pre-release firmware code. Galaxy S26 Ultra is also expected to be thinner than the predecessor and might even come in a bit lighter.

Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S26 Ultra

So that’s pretty much everything for now. As always, you might want to take all of this with a pinch of salt until Galaxy Unpacked. Some details could be added, and some might be cut before launch. There’s still a small chance we could see better charging speeds on the base and Plus models, and maybe even an improved camera setup on the Ultra. For the moment, you can enjoy the leaked Galaxy S26 wallpapers, which also hint at the upcoming colors.
