Samsung’s Privacy Display is shaping up to be one of the standout features of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company has been building hype around it with teasers on YouTube and social channels. While official teasers mostly focus on the function itself, a recent leak dives much deeper, revealing a high level of customization and smarter, AI-driven controls behind the scenes.

If you are interested in buying any of the Galaxy S26 models, don’t forget to take advantage of our Mystery Box program (US only). It includes a free 65W GaN charger, phone case, phone stand, cleaning kit, and more.

Galaxy S26 Ultra gets a dedicated Privacy Display section

Screenshots circulated via X, originally posted by @achultra in October 2025 and recently reshared by @tarunvats33, show a dedicated Privacy Display menu in Settings. Samsung notes that the feature protects your privacy and offers an Auto privacy option, so the tool turns on automatically when conditions are met. While users can manually toggle it when needed, Privacy Display intelligently activates itself based on specific triggers.

These triggers can be certain sensitive apps (like banking apps) or when you’re in crowded or public places. This likely means the phone uses contextual awareness, possibly combining app usage, location data, and environmental detection, to shield on-screen content from prying eyes. Users can also create custom triggers and customize how the Privacy Display behaves.

Samsung also allows users to select specific screen areas where the feature works. For example, if you have an incoming notification, Privacy Display will block side-angle views specifically around the notification area, without affecting the rest of the display. You can similarly enable it for picture-in-picture mode.

For users who want stronger protection, Samsung is also introducing a Maximum Privacy mode. This is a one-shot toggle that makes the display dimmer than usual for enhanced privacy. This mode is ideal for high-risk situations, such as reviewing confidential information in public.

Rumors suggest Samsung will keep Privacy Display exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The other two models might miss out on the feature. Instead, the company may bring anti-reflective panels, previously exclusive to the Ultra model, to the entire Galaxy S26 lineup. Some rumors also suggest a wider availability of Privacy Display, while anti-reflective coating remains an Ultra feature.

With Samsung set to officially unveil the Galaxy S26 lineup on February 25 in San Francisco, we won’t have to wait long to see what the company has planned.
