July 2025 One UI 7 Update Live for Galaxy S25 and S24 Series

Samsung has begun rolling out the July 2025 security update for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series, including the S24 FE. The update is available for devices running One UI 7 — not for S25 units on One UI 8 beta — and is currently live for users in South Korea. The rollout should expand to other regions in the coming days.
Samsung releases the July 2025 update for the Galaxy S25 and S24 series
As usual, the latest security patch for Galaxy devices improves system security and stability, ensuring a smoother and safer user experience. According to Samsung’s official security bulletin, the July 2025 release addresses 40 vulnerabilities, including a critical Android OS flaw. The Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, and S24 FE are the first devices to receive this update.
The July SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy S25 trio in Korea carries the firmware build version AYF6. That for the S24 lineup is BYF1. Both flagship lineups are getting bootloader upgrades alongside the latest security fixes. This means users can’t roll back to the previous firmware build after installing the July 2025 patch.
If anything, this indicates a nearing One UI 8 rollout. While Samsung has already released three One UI 8 beta builds for the Galaxy S25 series, there is no beta program for the S24 yet. The Android 16-based update went official on Wednesday with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE. This clears the path for a wider rollout.
While we wait for One UI 8 to expand to more devices, expect the July 2025 security update to reach the Galaxy S25 and S24 phones in more markets soon. Samsung will also roll out the new security fixes to other eligible models in the coming days. The update may not bring any new features, but the 40-odd security fixes help prevent potential threats while also ironing out minor software bugs for a more reliable experience.
