January 2026 Update Live for Galaxy S25 FE, Fold 6, Flip 6

Over the past few days, Samsung has rolled out the January 2026 security patch to a bunch of Galaxy devices, ranging from budget to flagship lineups. A few more join the party today: Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The update is now live for these models in South Korea, with a wider release expected soon.
Galaxy S25 FE, Fold 6, and Flip 6 get Samsung’s January 2026 update
The January 2026 security update from Samsung addresses dozens of vulnerabilities identified in both Android and Samsung’s own software layers. These include kernel-level hardening, access control improvements, and fixes for potential privilege escalation and memory access issues, with some labeled as “critical” fixes.
These security patches have already made it to the Galaxy S25 series, Fold 7, Flip 7, and a few other models. Now, the Galaxy S25 FE, Fold 6, and Flip 6 have started receiving the update in Samsung’s home country. The new firmware build version for the S25 FE is AYL3, while it’s CZA1 for the 2024 foldable duo. The build number may vary in other markets, though.
As expected, the update doesn’t bring any user-facing changes or new features. Security patches like this one are designed to protect your phone against malicious attacks and vulnerabilities discovered either by Google in the Android Open Source Project or by Samsung’s internal security teams. Monthly patches ensure that even older devices remain secure and stable.
If you own a Galaxy device, you can check for the January 2026 security update manually from the Settings app. Go to the Software update menu and select Download and install. If an update is available, you will be prompted to download it. Your Galaxy device will restart to complete the installation process. Samsung will soon release the latest security fixes for more models.
