If you’ve been waiting for the Galaxy S25 Edge to debut, there’s good news: it’s now official. Pre-orders are now open, with general sales following later this month — the phone costs $1,100 and above. Despite a hefty price tag, the new slim flagship comes with a few compromises, including in the camera department. So, how many cameras will the Galaxy S25 Edge have?
Galaxy S25 Edge key camera specs
The Galaxy S25 Edge features only two cameras at the back: a 200MP primary shooter with 2x optical quality zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The primary camera appears to use the same ISOCELL HP2 sensor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
The ultra-wide camera, meanwhile, doesn’t get the Ultra’s new 50MP sensor. Instead, Samsung uses the aging 12MP unit found on the other two S25 models. Another notable downside is that the Galaxy S25 Edge doesn’t have a telephoto camera, likely due to space constraints.
For selfies, the Galaxy S25 Edge features a 12MP front shooter, matching the rest of the lineup. So, while the device focuses on slimness, the primary cameras on the front and back are of top quality. If only it had a zoom lens, the phone could have been a real deal. It’s still a decent phone for anyone into slim devices. Just note that the battery life isn’t the best.
